Providing a stimulating, safe and playful learning environment helps children develop healthy behaviors, positive relationships and social emotional competence. With good social skills and individualized teaching strategies children develop academic strength and learn to love school! Children learn best in an age appropriate setting.
Ladder Of Learning operates on the belief that all children and families have individual strengths and needs and deserve to be treated with respect. Parents are a child’s first and greatest teacher and are encouraged to be actively involved with their child at LOL.

Nora Cassens, owner and director of LOL, has more than 25 years of experience in Early Childhood Education and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in ECE from Germany.
Teacher Nora provides bilingual education (German/English/American sign) and believes in learning through play ! Playing the guitar brings music and movement into the classroom. Sharing her love for nature and kindness is a number one teaching goal.

LOL has an open door policy and encourages parents to share their culture, talents and time with us. Our goal is to have positive ongoing, open communication between school and home! We screen our students at the beginning of the school year and create individual goals for our students in collaboration with the parents. The progress is shared at Parent/Teacher Conferences in fall and spring. Our school utilizes an online communication and billing system called Brightwheel.

Ladder Of Learning adheres to the NAEYC ratios of no more than 8 three-year-olds and no more than 10 four-year-olds with one teacher. Staff/child ratios within group size are necessary in order to facilitate adult-child interaction, safe constructive activities, and social interactions among children!

Our teachers are professionals who are passionate about early childhood education. They are dedicated to providing a warm and caring environment that fosters your child's emotional, social, and intellectual development. Yearly continued education and staying current on their First Aid certification is a requirement for our teachers.

Our teachers utilize time tested curriculums such as Handwriting without Tears
and Zoo Phonics. Giving them hands on materials, the children use curves and lines to build all the letters of the alphabet. Each letter is connected to an animal and the children learn the sign language for both. We learn about a new letter each week.
Positve Guidance replaces discipline by arranging the environment, providing enough time and materials, smooth transitions, teaching rules, having consistent expectations, offering choices, natural and logical consequences and teaching problem solving skills!

Ladder Of Learning believes in hands-on learning and fieldtrips are a great way to explore and build long lasting learning experiences.

Current Rates and Classrooms
Cut off date for Kindergarten is Sep. 10th of each school year which means, if your child is five years old at that time he/she will go to Kindergarten. If they are three years old they will be in our 3-year-old class and if they are four they will be in our Pre-K class. We also have a mixed-age-group classroom.
LOL will follow the Corvallis Primary School Calendar. Tuition is paid through our online app Brightwheel.
